Success for Mayor's Charity Bag Pack for TinyLife

December 6, 2016

A Charity Bag Pack at Tesco in Lisburn in aid of Tiny Life, the Mayor’s official charity, has been hailed a great success, raising a fantastic £1,532.66.

TinyLife is the premature baby charity for Northern Ireland and provides tailored practical and emotional support to families with premature and unwell babies aged from pre-birth to two years.  The charity has particular significance for the Mayor as his own grandson was born eight weeks prematurely.

The Mayor, Councillor Brian Bloomfield MBE, was delighted with the support for the Bag Pack and said: “Having seen how TinyLife helped my daughter and son-in-law, as it does for so many families, I cannot praise its good work highly enough.

“I would especially like to thank all the volunteers who helped out last Saturday including members of Lambeg Church, students from Wallace High School, volunteers from Tiny Life, friends, Trevor Lunn MLA, Elected Members of Council and Council employees.

“I would like to take this opportunity to thank Tesco for all its help in facilitating the Bag Pack. I am greatly heartened by the kind generosity of the local community in pulling together to help a great cause.”
