Spooktacular pumpkin carving workshops at Bells Lane Allotments

October 30, 2020

This week families enjoyed some Halloween fun at Bells Lane Allotments. The series of pumpkin carving workshops, funded by the Public Health Agency, provided the perfect activity to entertain the little ones during the extended school term break.

At the workshops families got the chance to carve their very own spooky pumpkins and, there were lots of Halloween treats for the kids too. The C-SAW Project worked in partnership with The Conservation Volunteers to coordinate and facilitate the sessions.

Alderman Michael Henderson MBE, Chairman of the Council’s Leisure and Community Development Committee, said:

“The pumpkin carving workshops were a special Halloween treat for families. The workshops were outdoors, and families were socially distanced, in line with government guidelines.

“The sessions offered something fun and educational for children. Families are at the heart of our community, and it was great to see them enjoying some Halloween fun. The pumpkin creations were fang-tastic!

“I would like to take this opportunity to thank everyone involved in making the workshops happen."

Additional sessions were added in response to the very high demand arising out of the success of the one-day event.
