New Recycling Facilities in Ballybeen
October 8, 2018
Residents of Ballybeen can now recycle glass and textiles locally at the new recycling facilities located in Roseneath Gardens, Ballybeen, Dundonald.
Councillor Janet Gray MBE, Chair of the Council’s Environmental Services Committee, speaking about the new recycling facility, said: “Glass bottles and jars of any colour can be placed in this bottle bank for recycling. We would ask that all bottles and jars are rinsed out before being recycled. The Council welcomes this new addition to its bring bank locations and would like to thank the NI Housing Executive for having them situated on its land. This bring bank is in a convenient central location for local residents and we hope that they will be well used.”
Alderman James Tinsley, Vice-Chair of the Environmental Services Committee added: “The addition of a textile bottle bank in this populated area is great news. It offers residents a convenient location to support charity after having a ‘clear out’ at home. The textile bank will save them having to make trips to local charity shops to donate their clothes for reuse.”
Pamela Johnston from NIHE added: “The Northern Ireland Housing Executive are delighted to support such an initiative by having this Recycling facility located on our land. Local residents in Ballybeen estate can now recycle glass & textiles at a convenient location.”
