Mayor Martin remarks on the occasion of Ramadan

As the holy month of Ramadan begins, I extend sincere best wishes to our Muslim community across Lisburn & Castlereagh.
For many, Ramadan is a time of reflection, forgiveness, compassion and spiritual connection.
As Mayor, I believe it is important that we all seek to learn more about each other so we can build a deeper understanding of the diversity all around us.
We are enriched by the invaluable contribution made by our Muslim brothers and sisters, friends, colleagues and neighbours across our community and wider society.
On behalf of our Council, to everyone preparing for Ramadan, I wish you peace, light and joy.
