Council and businesses join forces to entice people to Shop Local on Black Friday
November 9, 2022
Lisburn & Castlereagh City Council (LCCC) have launched a Black Friday marketing campaign to encourage shoppers to Shop Local on Friday, 25th November. This new campaign, in partnership with Lisburn businesses, aims to boost the local economy and attract shoppers to the city centre.
Retailers in the City Centre will be open from 9am – 9pm to give everyone the opportunity to take advantage of their discount offers and are hoping to see many customers in the city centre supporting local businesses.
Speaking about the Black Friday campaign, Chair of LCCC’s Development Committee, Alderman Allan Ewart MBE, said:
“Our City Centre business owners continue to work hard to provide a welcoming and enticing City Centre for visitors and residents alike, so I think it’s fitting that we support them. I would encourage everyone to shop locally on Black Friday and of course on the run up to Christmas, to keep our high streets buzzing and business doors open.
“We have a fantastic range of retailers, coffee shops and restaurants, there is something for everyone in Lisburn.”
Endorsing the Black Friday marketing scheme, President of the Lisburn Chamber of Commerce, Dr Katrina Collins, said: “Let’s make Lisburn the only place to be on Black Friday and rally up as much support to our local and independent businesses. The Chamber is fully behind this scheme and we look forward to welcoming shoppers to the City Centre to show them the vibrant mix of retail that Lisburn has to offer!”
To complement the Shop Local, Shop Lisburn Black Friday campaign, there will be plenty of seasonal activity happening in the City Centre across November. Don’t forget that the festive visual extravaganza, Christmas at the Castle will be running from Wednesday 23rd – Friday 25th November. Find out more about the LCCC Christmas programme online here.
