Conquer the Castle Challenge set for Castle Gardens, Lisburn
April 12, 2017
Lisburn & Castlereagh City Council is encouraging children aged 7 to 13 years to take up the challenge and register on its fun-filled obstacle course, Conquer the Castle.
Organised by the Council’s Sports Development Unit, the challenging obstacle race will take place on Friday 21st April from 10am to 12noon at the historic Castle Gardens, Lisburn.
Children will be put to the test, in a safe and fun environment, and will run, scramble, crawl, climb, slide or swing their way through various obstacles situated throughout the course.
Speaking about the Conquer the Castle event, Chairman of the Council’s Leisure and Community Development Committee, Councillor Tim Morrow: "This is a fantastic event for children to get involved in and the fun factor is guaranteed. I had a great time at the launch, where even I managed to jump over a few obstacles!
“This is just one of many events that the Council organises for residents of Lisburn and Castlereagh, with the aim creating opportunities for people of all ages to get active in some shape or form. I would encourage mums and dads to register their child or children on this thrilling event, which I have no doubt they will thoroughly enjoy.”
The course is suitable for all levels and costs £3 to enter. To acknowledge and celebrate completion of the Conquer the Castle event, each child will be presented with a medal to mark their achievement.
