Entry to Twilight Night by Fairy Light on Friday 26th October 2018

Gates will open to Twilight Night by Fairy Light wristband holders only at 7pm tonight, Friday 26 October. The Council advises that all ages of wristband holders should be wearing their bands when they arrive at the park.  Wristbands were sold on the condition that one was to be purchased for each person attending the event irrespective of their age ie babies and toddlers must have their own wristband.

Entry is subject to Terms and Conditions and is via the Belfast Road & Magheralave Road entrances. Assistance Dogs are only permitted but please note there will be loud noises.

Twilight Night by Fairy Light is a popular event and attracts large crowds. No parking is available onsite and parking restrictions will be in place in areas surrounding Wallace Park. Limited parking is available at the Parkmount Car–park for Blue Badge holders. Visitors are respectfully asked to extend all reasonable courtesy to the needs of local residents.

In the interests of safety, Wallace Park will be closed to public access on Thursday 25 October, 10am until 2pm and from noon on Friday 26 October until 9am Saturday 27 October. In addition, the Parkmount Car–park will be closed from 10.30pm on Thursday 25 October until 9am on Saturday 27 October 2018, with the limited exception of Blue Badge holders on the evening of the event.

This is an outdoor event and it is anticipated it will go ahead regardless of the weather. However, in extreme weather conditions the Council reserves the right to cancel or adjust the event programme. 

In heavy rain, please be prepared for uneven, slippery and muddy surfaces in the park. We would encourage you to stay on the guided pathways. Regardless, we advise wearing suitable weather–proof footwear and clothing.

Lisburn and Castlereagh City Council (the Council) requests that patrons assist in creating a shared event space. It also reserves the right to restrict access to events if it is deemed by the Council that a patron(s) is/are in breach of this position. The Council also has a duty to ensure equality rights are protected under Section 75 of the Northern Ireland Act and reserves the right to restrict access to events should a patron behave in a way that is likely to constitute a breach of these obligations. 

  • Flags, emblems or other paraphernalia of a political, sectarian, racial or partisan nature will not be permitted on site.
  • Security personnel are authorised to deal with anti–social behaviour by escorting offenders from the site. 
  • Security personnel are authorised to perform searches on entry to the park. Failure to cooperate may delay or restrict your entry to the park. 
  • Alcohol is NOT permitted on site. Trained security personnel are authorised to conduct searches for and confiscate alcohol. In order to avoid confiscation, patrons have the opportunity to place alcohol in the bins provided. These items will be disposed of by the Council. 
  • Young people under 16 years old must be accompanied by an adult.
  • Should you leave the event you may not be able to re–enter; this will be at the discretion of the stewards and may be dependent on the site reaching capacity. 

Dogs

  • Only Assistance Dogs will be permitted onsite. *Please note there will be loud noises and bright lights* 

Special Effects

  • Smoke effects, strobe lighting, lasers and loud noises will occur at this event.

Unauthorised Activities

  • Unauthorised charity collections, leafleting, selling or promotional activity are not permitted on site.
  • No bicycles are permitted onsite.
  • No glass, hand–held fireworks or naked flames are permitted onsite.
  • As per legislation and Lisburn and Castlereagh City Council by–laws, UAVs/drones should not be operated within or in the vicinity of Wallace Park. In such cases authorities will be notified and further action will be taken.

Personal Safety and Property

  • Whilst onsite, attendees assume all risk of injury and all responsibility for property loss, destruction or theft and release organisers, sponsors, performers, venue and their employees from any liability.

Parking and Accessibility

  • There is no parking available onsite other than limited parking for Blue Badge holders at Parkmount car–park at the Belfast Road side of Wallace Park.
  • All Blue Badge holders MUST fully and correctly display their permit on their vehicle’s dashboard. Parking restrictions will be in place in areas surrounding Wallace Park.
  • Visitors must extend all reasonable courtesy to the needs of local residents. Please use public car–parks within the Lisburn area. For further information please visit www.lisburncastlereagh.gov.uk/resident/environmental-health/off-street-car-parking-charges
  • A tarmac drive leads through the park area. While the site is accessible, we ask all attendees to operate caution underfoot in grass areas or on uneven surfaces.
  • For attendees visiting the event with individuals on the autism spectrum, you can join our fast–track queue by simply approaching one of our Security Personnel at the park entrances who will make all reasonable attempts to assist you.
  • Please note that you must present your Autism Alert Card, National Autism Card or JAM Card to avail of this queue–busting service.  There is also a ‘quiet space’ in Wallace Park with sensory packs, if required. 

Use of Photography and Filming at Twilight Night by Fairy Light 2018

The Council will be recording Twilight by Night by Fairy Light 2018 through film and photography for public and media distribution.
This may include the actual or simulated likeness of individuals in connection with the production, exhibition, advertising, electronic representations or exploitation of any photography, film, video or audio recording of Twilight Night by Fairy Light 2018.
Images may also be recorded by PSNI and the Council’s security personnel at Twilight by Night to ensure the safety of those attending the event and for the purposes of the prevention and detection of crime.

By attending Twilight Night by Fairy Light 2018 you agree to these terms and any other Terms and Conditions the Council may impose.
