Award winning choir The Contact Singers, will be hitting the high notes at Lagan Valley Island Arts Centre on December 21st to raise money for the Mayoral Charities Habitat for Humanity Northern Ireland and Corrymeela Community
The Contact Singers who have sung alongside Russell Watson, will perform Pepper Choplin’s, “Night of the Father’s Love”, telling the story of the first Christmas Eve. The piece is an intertwining of a 13th-century chant with one of the most popular carol ever written, Silent Night.
The Mayor, Councillor Tim Morrow said of the performance, “This one-off performance on December 21st is an opportunity to soak up the Christmas atmosphere and to enter into the giving spirit of the season. Tickets cost only £5 and all proceeds will go to Humanity Northern Ireland and Corrymeela Community, two charities which are very important to me.
‘Night of the Father’s Love’ has been described as having ‘all of the mystery, the awe and the palpable excitement of that night (are) imaginatively captured in a Christmas mosaic that combines fragments of the familiar with a unique perspective in word and music.”
Following the performance, audience members will be served light refreshments.
