Rising and Thriving in Transition and Change
May 29, 2020
Over 60 Lisburn Castlereagh business representatives logged on yesterday to attend the council’s final Entrepreneurs Network of the 2019-2020 programme calendar, to hear guest speaker Gerry Hussey advise us how to ‘Rise & Thrive in Transition & Change’.
In his role as Performance Consultant, Gerry has coached elite athletes for Olympic Games, Heineken Cups, All-Ireland Finals, World Cups and Golf Majors. His work with the Irish Boxing team in the Beijing and London Olympic Games has been well documented and acclaimed.
Gerry currently works with market-leading organisations and business teams, and, through his presentation he discussed how individuals and organisations can rise and thrive during the pandemic and get ready to unleash the very best version of themselves and their businesses after the crisis.
Speaking about the event Alderman Allan Ewart MBE, Chairman of the Development Committee, said: “It was a pleasure to welcome Gerry Hussey to our Entrepreneurs Network as he is an example of someone who has helped so many achieve a high level of success through determination, drive and ambition. It is my hope that he has inspired the businesses that joined us to keep their own drive and determination going strong, despite the unfortunate but necessary restrictions which have been put on so many businesses recently.
“I am glad to see that the Entrepreneurs Network has continued to provide a platform between the council and local businesses to network and learn together, through the difficult changing scenery in the economy.
“The team at Business Solutions have evolved to move the Entrepreneurs Network online, so that it can continue to offer a networking platform for a variety of start-up businesses, established businesses, social enterprises and entrepreneurs within the council area.
“Although this is the last in the 2019-2020 series, the council will continue to provide businesses with support through its other programmes including Business Solutions Webinars, the Mentor Growth Programme, Business Helpline, and Business Support Newsletter. I would encourage local businesses to continue to engage with the council to obtain support for the sustainability and growth of your business.”
Following a question and answer session, attendees logged off with the knowledge and understanding of the practical steps they need to take if they are to present the best version of themselves and their business during and after the crisis of covid-19. Thank you to everyone who joined us and to Gerry Hussey for providing the valuable advice.
