PCSP to Host First Public Meeting in Harmony Hill

The first public meeting of the newly re-constituted Lisburn and Castlereagh Policing and Community Safety Partnership (PCSP) will take place on Tuesday 20 October 2015 at 7pm in Harmony Hill Presbyterian Church Hall, Moss Road, Lisburn.

The meeting is being facilitated to enable local people to have their say on issues such as crime and anti-social behaviour and will be attended by the District Commander and members of the recently established Local Policing Team. Designated organisations will also be in attendance and include the Fire Service, Youth Justice Agency, Probation Board, South Eastern Health and Social Care Trust, South Eastern Education and Library Board, Youth Services and Northern Ireland Housing Executive.

The PCSP are keen to hear the concerns of the local community on other issues such as burglary.

The PSNI District Commander will present his report on policing and will also address policing issues raised by members of the public in attendance.

Speaking about the forthcoming meeting, Chairman of the Lisburn and Castlereagh PCSP, Councillor Scott Carson said, “We have liaised closely with the youth of the area in preparation for this meeting and the young people will update the meeting on issues which affect them in the area. Lisburn and Castlereagh PCSP is keen to find out what the policing and community safety priorities are for local people so that resources can be put in the right place at the right time to address community safety concerns. This meeting offers an opportunity for you to highlight the priority issues for your community. I would encourage local residents to come along and take part.”

The District Commander for Lisburn and Castlereagh District, Superintendent Sean Wright said “Partnership working is vital in keeping the people of Lisburn and Castlereagh City safe. With representatives from all these local organisations together in one place, we can better understand the issues affecting the community, and listen as one to the concerns of members of the public. I would urge the local community to come along, give us your views, and work with us to tackle crime.”
