This amazing offer is available in six council car parks; Antrim Street, Queen’s Road, Barrack Street, Smithfield Square, Governors Road and Laganbank - all of which are conveniently located near your favourite stores and restaurants.
It’s an exciting time for Lisburn city centre. Over the last few months, we’ve been helping 11 new businesses and seven existing business refurbishments take shape and we’ve also completed refurbishing our alfresco parklet in the city centre.
Located just outside the Irish Linen Centre & Lisburn Museum, visitors can now relax and take time to enjoy a takeaway in this covered, seated area – regardless of the weather! With so much going on and car parking for £1, Lisburn High Street is buzzing!
Alderman Amanda Grehan, Chair of LCCC’s Development Committee, commented: “I’m delighted to be promoting our great value parking, at £1 for three hours within the City Centre Council owned car parks it is a wonderful first step towards enticing shoppers into our city centre with great value incentives.
“LCCC has also been working with Lisburn Chamber of Commerce and Retail NI to lobby the Department for Infrastructure to change the current on-street parking charges in Lisburn Castlereagh to one hour of free parking. While we continue our work to make this possible, we’re encouraging our local community to take advantage of the low rates within LCCC car parks and shop locally.
“As we come out of lockdown restrictions, supporting our local business owners has never been more important. We’re excited to welcome shoppers back to the city centre to enjoy the great customer service, value for money and diverse range of retail offering available.”
Councillor Andrew Ewing, Environmental Services Chairman added: “We are delighted to once again offer off-street car parking at £1 for three hours. Lisburn has a lot to offer and enjoy for both local residents and visitors alike. We would respectfully ask people to only occupy one parking space for the necessary amount of time. This will ensure as many people as possible can visit our city centre, support local businesses and enjoy their outing. We would also advise people using our car parks to please follow the social distancing guidance.”
Garry MacDonald, President of Lisburn Chamber of Commerce concluded: “The Lisburn Chamber is grateful for the council’s timely re-launch of their ‘3 hours for a £1’ across their off-street car parks. As we come into the summer months It is a much-needed boost to our shoppers and visitors alike. For the spend of a single £1 you can now browse and shop at some 150 Lisburn city centre stores and retail services, eat and drink at 48 hospitality venues or walk thru the beautiful Castle Gardens, Wallace Park and the Cathedral area at your leisure."
