Paris Attacks Books of Condolence presented to the French Honorary Consul

January 19, 2016

Councillor Thomas Beckett, Mayor of Lisburn & Castlereagh City Council, Alderman James Tinsley, Chairman of the Corporate Services Committee and Director of Corporate Services, Mr Adrian Donaldson have joined with Mayors and representatives from several Northern Ireland Councils to present Books of Condolence to the French Honorary Consul, Regine McCullough.

Books of Condolence were opened across Northern Ireland following the terrorist attacks in Paris in November 2015.

The Right Worshipful the Mayor said: “The signed Books of Condolence from the people of the Lisburn and Castlereagh area were handed over to the French Honorary Consul, Mrs Regine McCullough, who attended a short ceremony at the Town Hall in Carrickfergus.

“I was very pleased to meet other Mayors who were in attendance, representing their respective areas and I would like to thank Mid and East Antrim Borough Council for bringing us together.  We continue to think of those families who lost loved ones only a short time ago.”

Alderman James Tinsley said: “I hope Mrs McCullough will pass on the thoughts and prayers of all of us and that some comfort for those who lost loved ones will be taken from the outpouring of sympathy for Paris across the world.

“I was very honoured to attend the collective handing over of the Books of Condolence. This was a demonstrable way to show our sympathy and to provide the sentiments of the people of Northern Ireland to the French Honorary Consul,” he concluded.
