New Visitor Attraction Opens in Moira
August 13, 2018
Lisburn & Castlereagh City Council is delighted to have Ireland’s first indoor electric motocross track ‘E-Trax’ open in Moira.
This new facility is an excellent addition to the leisure and tourism offering of the Lisburn Castlereagh area. As a bespoke 35,000 square foot facility it represents an investment of £400,000; and offers children as young as five years old, teenagers and adults the off-road experience of motocross indoors.
The Mayor of Lisburn & Castlereagh City Council, Councillor Uel Mackin officially opened the business along with the company directors, Kyle Rainey and Gareth George. He said: "E-Trax uses pioneering KTM Freeride E bikes, which do not produce noise as they lack gears and a clutch, making them environmentally friendly too; and the use of this type of bike means that the Lisburn Castlereagh area has Ireland’s first certified KTM e-park."
Alderman William Leathem, Chairman of the Council’s Development Committee, attending the opening, said: “Council Officers and Elected members have worked closely with Kyle and Gareth to secure this much needed facility within the Council area. E-Trax offers a fun, safe and controlled environment for people to participate in the motocross sport. The two tracks within E-Trax can accommodate both those new to the sport and those familiar with motocross bikes.
“I am confident that this new attraction will be a great success and will have many residents and visitors through its doors. There is a long standing connection between the Council and the Ulster Grand Prix and I am delighted that we now have established a connection with the motocross sport through E-Trax.”
E-Trax Directors Kyle Rainey and Gareth George said: "We are delighted to have secured a site in the Lisburn and Castlereagh Council area. We would like to thank the Council for their help and support in making our vision a reality."
E-Trax is open for bookings for parties, team building corporate events and from individual experienced motocross riders looking for that extra time on the bike. For more information log on to www.etrax-ni.co.uk
