Mayor opens an online book of condolence in memory of young Noah Donohoe

June 30, 2020

Mayor of Lisburn & Castlereagh City Council, Councillor Nicholas Trimble has opened an online book of condolence in memory of Noah Donohoe.

“Residents from across the Lisburn Castlereagh area and Northern Ireland have been deeply affected by the loss of young Noah, and their thoughts and prayers are with Noah’s mother and wider family circle at this devastating time. On behalf of the residents and elected members of Lisburn Castlereagh I would like to express my deepest condolences to Noah’s family for the tragic and unexpected loss of their talented Noah.

“To lose a child is never an easy thing for a parent to cope with under any circumstance.  The shock his family must be feeling when Noah failed to return to the safety of his home after going out on his bike is devastating.

“Over the course of the past week, the community of Northern Ireland has been united in one purpose – to find young Noah.  I would like to thank everyone who took part in the search for Noah and shared information online to try and bring him home.  When the news came through on Saturday like myself thousands of adults and teenagers felt the heartbreak of the loss of a much-loved young boy.

“It is my hope that the outpouring of support from across our city and further afield may bring some comfort to his family at this difficult time as they face the loss of their loved one.”

Anyone who wishes to sign the book should go to www.lisburncastlereagh.gov.uk/condolences before it closes at 12 noon on Thursday 9th July.
