Mayor meets new local member of UK Youth Parliament for Lagan Valley

Mayor Martin welcomed Wallace High School student Luke Mulholland to the Mayor’s Parlour to congratulate him on becoming the new Member of the UK Youth Parliament for Lagan Valley.

Mayor Martin said: "It was my privilege to meet Luke & hear more about his plans as he begins a 2 year term representing Lagan Valley in the UK Youth Parliament. Luke will be joining Northern Ireland and UK wide sessions as well as travelling to London to join debates in special sittings of the Parliament in the House of Commons.’

"Luke is also a member of the Lisburn Castlereagh Youth Council so I’m really pleased that their work will also have a voice on a national stage too. I have no doubt Luke will play an important role as the new MYP for Lagan Valley and I look forward to watching his progress."
