Mayor congratulates Harmony Hill Primary School on an impressive show of silverware

July 2, 2015

The Mayor of Lisburn & Castlereagh City Council, Councillor Thomas Beckett held a Mayoral Reception recently at Lagan Valley Island to mark the sporting achievements of Harmony Hill Primary School and to offer his congratulations to the pupils.

The school won the NI Girls' Hockey Championship and the Girls' Football Team were the District Champions.  Not to be outdone the District League was won by the Boys' Football Team.

Success was also achieved in cross country and badminton and the array of trophies, shields and cups were brought along to the Mayoral Reception.

The Mayor said: “It is so impressive to see the proud faces, which of course would have involved plenty of practice and commitment and probably a few disappointments along the way.  I was very impressed with the vast array of silverware and know there will be many proud Mums and Dads, Grandparents and other family members that will have shared in the school’s success.  A big thank you must go to the teaching staff as well. The pupils have really done the school proud and I offer my sincere congratulations to all involved.”
