London Trade Mission Reaped Rewards for The Robot Exchange
December 19, 2019
Local technology company, The Robot Exchange joined Lisburn & Castlereagh City Council to promote the council’s upcoming 2020 London Trade Mission, which is now open for applications. This trade development programme offers six local technology companies the opportunity to engage with potential buyers in London.
The Robot Exchange took part in the council’s trade mission to London last year and has advised the council that its longer-term results of the trade visit to London have been impressive with an increase in customers and revenue, which resulted in the recruitment of two new developers.
The 2020 trade mission to London will take place from 25th – 27th March 2020 and during this mission the six companies will each have a full itinerary and meeting programme with targeted prospects in the greater London area.
Alderman Allan Ewart MBE, Chairman of the council’s Development Committee, encouraging companies to sign up to the London trade mission commented: “As part of the council’s economic development programme we have decided to offer local technology companies the opportunity to work with us and travel to London, an important gateway to the Great Britain market. We are delighted to be able to provide six local small to medium sized enterprises with dedicated face-to-face meetings with key decision makers and investors this year in addition to bespoke mentoring.
“Our local businesses offer unique products and services and this mission to London is an ideal opportunity for them to pitch to new clients. HMC Global, our appointed consultants, will undertake extensive research to compile itineraries for our Lisburn Castlereagh businesses so they can maximise their three days in London. I would urge technology businesses within Lisburn Castlereagh to find out how the trade programme will benefit their growth.”
Andy Wallace, CEO, The Robot Exchange speaking about their success from last year’s trade mission, said: “We were impressed at the level of potential clients that the council managed to get us in front of during the trade mission. Our previous experience as a small local company is we would get some small local clients, the majority of whom would cancel either on the day or before the meetings. Whilst on the Lisburn & Castlereagh City Council led trade mission, we did not have a single client do this. What’s more, the level of clients we discussed our solution with was at C-Level. We felt the detailed documents we received in advance allowed us to do the required research and additionally, the clients were briefed correctly on our company. Whether we successfully close these initial contacts will be down to us, but we now have a foot in the door.”
The Trade Mission to London will allow up-and-coming, as well as established technology companies over three days, to pitch their products and services to the market potential of Great Britain and increase their export customer base.
If you are a local technology businesses seeking opportunities in new or existing markets and do not want to miss out, as spaces are limited please register your interest for this programme now.
