Lisburn City Centre Launches Events Guide
May 15, 2017
Lisburn & Castlereagh City Council has recently launched its new events guide for Market Square in Lisburn City Centre. With 15 events already scheduled for 2017 from lego building to tea dances; markets to movie nights and more, it is set to be another jam packed year in Market Square.
The events have already kicked off for the season with many visitors from the local area and further afield coming along to join in the free activities.
On Saturday 24th June from 11am-4pm Market Square will be transformed into a hive of gaming fun with ‘Gaming on the Big Screen’ taking place in partnership with GAME, Bow Street, Lisburn. There will be opportunities to compete in FIFA knockouts and Minecraft challenges with prizes to be won.
As well as these larger events taking place visitors have been visiting the new environment in the Square with plenty of comfortable seating and the relaxing water feature to enjoy. Throughout the season free games activities along with soft play toys and a play house will be available in Market Square for anyone to use - when the weather permits.
Councillor Uel Mackin, Chair of Lisburn & Castlereagh City Council’s Development Committee comments: “Market Square has experienced significant revitalisation following the Council’s investment in the area and we have further committed to this with the extensive events schedule planned for 2017. Whilst visiting the events and the improved Square, we encourage you to call into your local café, shop, bar or restaurant and make the most of your City Centre experience.
