Housty’s Tea Dance Returns to Market Square

Lisburn & Castlereagh City Council is again hosting the ever popular Housty as he provides the music for an outdoor Tea Dance live in Market Square on Tuesday July 24th from 2.00pm to 4.00pm.  Anyone who wants to come along will enjoy music from across the decades along with an opportunity to dance on the wooden floor right in the heart of the City Centre.

Earlier in the morning from 11.00am to 1.00pm our younger visitors can enjoy a fun session with ‘Jump Jiggle & Jive…Live!’ This will be an interactive dance and exercise group for kids, twirling and swirling with hula hoops, pom poms and other colourful surprises. They will have audience members on their feet, clapping and dancing along to the lively spectacle.

Alderman William Leathem, Chairman of the Council’s Development Committee who will be attending the event said, “It was fantastic to see such a large crowd of enthusiastic dancers in the City Centre last year.  It is safe to say that everyone, from young and old, had an enjoyable day out filled with fun and entertainment. It is great to see these events returning to the City Centre which not only provide free activities for all ages but also encourage the community to call into their local eatery or shop for a spot of lunch or to purchase a pair of dancing shoes. I am really looking forward to this year’s events in July and August.”

Due to popular demand, the event will take place again on Tuesday 21st August, with ‘Jump Jiggle & Jive…Live!’ from 11.00am–1.00pm and ‘Market Square’s Tuesday Tea Dance with Housty & Friends’ from 2.00pm–4.00pm.

Booking is not required and seats will be filled on a first-come first-served basis.
