Get results with Complementary Therapies
September 21, 2018
In the lead up to our Health and Wellness Event taking place Sunday 23rd and Monday 24th September at Lagan Valley Island we look at some success stories of how complementary therapies have helped people in their effort to get well.
The Chairman of Lisburn & Castlereagh City Council’s Strategic Community Planning Partnership, Alderman William Leathem, has personal experience of how alternative therapies has helped him to deal with Fibromyalgia and ME: “I fully understand what it is like to live with a debilitating condition and it is through therapies such as kinesiology, hydro-baths, reflexology, acupuncture and hydro-baths I have been given some relief from my symptoms. Conditions such as Fibromyalgia and ME present challenges to everyday activities so to look at the ways in which these challenges can be managed is vitally important in improving your quality of life. The impact of chronic pain can have a profound impact on your mental health so it is important to seek support and get the right type of treatment. I would urge everyone to come along to our Health and Wellness Fair to see what treatments, tools and techniques can aid their healing.”
Paula Philips, a Therapist from Hollywood Health, who will be exhibiting at the Fair also has personal experience of how alternative therapies have helped her son Niall, aged 3, who was diagnosed with a rare form of Epilepsy: “Due to the nature of Niall’s condition I felt lost in a system with no real direction for the way forward treating my son’s symptoms and quality of life. I then started to look at non-traditional methods of healing including Kinesiology, Andromeda Bioresonance and Scenar therapies. Engaging in alternative therapies as well as continuing with traditional medicine and treatment has meant the quality of our lives has greatly improved and it is for this reason that I want as many people as possible to know what non-traditional tools and techniques are out there that can make a significant impact on quality of life. Through this event we want people to know where to go to get the right type of support which is vitally important.”
At the Health and Wellness Fair there will be a strong focus on improving your mental health, computer-aided health checks, support for children and young people with behavioural challenges, Kinesiology, Matrix Re-imprinting, Nutrition and Diet and practical skills for dealing with stress and anxiety.
