Find out how you can help #FightBack at #COVID19
March 23, 2020
Within Lisburn Castlereagh, we can all play our part helping to keep ourselves and others safe by following these simple things:
-
Wash your hands for 20 seconds using soap and hot water, particularly after coughing, sneezing and blowing your nose, or after being in public areas where other people are doing so. To reduce the spread of germs when you cough or sneeze, cover your mouth and nose with a tissue, or your sleeve (not your hands) if you do not have a tissue, and throw the tissue in a bin immediately. Then wash your hands or use a hand sanitising gel.
-
Maintain social distancing of 2 metres in your home, workplace and shops if you have to buy goods.
-
Only buy essential items you need to help ensure there are supplies for our healthcare professionals, the vulnerable in our communities and more. Please refrain from panic buying!
-
Important Waste Collection Information: If you or someone in your house either has tested positive for coronavirus (COVID-19) or thinks that they may have it, use your usual household products, such as detergents and bleach, to clean and get rid of the virus on frequently-touched surfaces - these will be very effective. Personal waste (such as used tissues) and disposable cleaning cloths can be stored securely within disposable rubbish bags. These bags should then be placed into a second bag, tied securely and kept separate from other waste in the room in which you are self-isolating. Keep these bags aside for at least 72 hours before putting into your usual external black/ grey household waste bin.Other household waste can be disposed of as normal.
-
Use good personal hygiene when delivering and collecting your bin from the kerbside.
-
Remember by cleaning objects and surfaces regularly touched with normal cleaning products will reduce the risk of passing the infection on to other people!
