Lisburn & Castlereagh City Council opens consultation on Draft Equality Action Plan
June 28, 2021
Lisburn & Castlereagh City Council has launched a public consultation on a draft Equality Action Plan for 2021–2025.
The consultation document is AVAILABLE HERE and to give us your feedback through our survey, CLICK HERE.
The Equality Action Plan is a commitment in our Equality Scheme and is intended to ensure that we focus on key areas where people may experience inequality or be disadvantaged in relation to our role and functions as a council.
Chair of the Corporate Services Committee, Councillor John Laverty said: “LCCC is committed to delivering services for all our citizens and equality and good relations are central to all our policy making and service delivery.
“As a public body, we are obliged to promote equality and good relations for a range of groups and this plan sets out some key actions which will help ensure we do that.
“We recognise that we have a diverse community in Lisburn and Castlereagh and are keen to ensure that everyone, regardless of personal characteristics such as religion, gender, political opinion, race, disability, age or sexual orientation, feels they have equitable access to our services and that council serves their needs.
“We would welcome your feedback on the proposed actions in the plan - so we know we are focusing on the things that are important to the people we serve.”
