Council’s new visitor website will put Lisburn Castlereagh on the tourism map

October 25, 2021

Lisburn & Castlereagh City Council (LCCC) has launched a brand new visitor website, in partnership with Tourism NI. The new site provides a user-friendly platform for visitors to easily find information on things to see and do, places to eat, accommodation and events in the area.

Local businesses within the Lisburn Castlereagh tourism and hospitality industry will be highlighted across the website, and direct booking links and google maps integration will make it easier than ever to discover and plan your perfect visitor experience.

For the ultra-organised, you can even build your own bespoke itinerary by saving items to a planner and sharing them with friends. Make the most of your time in Lisburn Castlereagh by taking a tour of Hilden Brewery, cooking up a storm in Forestside Cookery School or enjoying a romantic meal in Royal Hillsborough-all with the click of a button!

The website is brand-aligned with Tourism NI, who is funding the project for the first two years, along with other council tourism sites across NI to provide a seamless and more integrated approach to tourism promotion in the region.

LCCC’s Chair of Development, Ald Amanda Grehan, said: “It is fitting that we launch our new tourism website at Hillsborough Castle where the Letters Patent were presented for Royal Hillsborough. We welcome the potential tourism and economic benefits we hope this royal status will bring.

“The new website will help provide a platform for all of our local tourism and hospitality businesses to be showcased to both domestic and in time, international markets.

“I encourage local residents, business owners within the tourism industry and anyone planning a staycation or visit to Northern Ireland to visit the new site, have a browse and discover some new and exciting experiences within Lisburn Castlereagh.”

Claire Cromie, Digital Programme Lead for Tourism NI, said: “Tourism NI is delighted that the new Visit Lisburn Castlereagh site is now live, following a significant investment by Tourism NI in regional tourism websites.

“Tourism NI’s long-term aspiration is for a collaborative and synchronised online representation of Northern Ireland’s world-class tourism offering across all the regions, an approach that takes foremost account of the needs of our visitors and benefits the wider tourism sector”.
