Council welcomes job boost with investment of £500,000 from Mercury Security

Lisburn & Castlereagh City Council welcomes the news that the local economy is to receive a jobs boost of 90 new jobs with an investment of £500,000 by Mercury Security Management as part of its rebrand and expansions plans.

Alderman William Leathem, Chairman of the Council’s Development Committee, welcoming the news said: “This significant investment by a local independently owned security firm is great news and offers a fantastic boost to the Northern Ireland job market.  Mercury Security Management is definitely taking advantage of its strategic location in Lisburn, which is ideally located on the Belfast - Dublin economic corridor.  Over the years they have benefited from being based in one of the fastest growing local authorities with one of the lowest rates; and have grown from strength to strength since it formed in 2001.

“The commitment this business has shown to progressively grow its business within our Council area is extremely encouraging.  As a Council we work closely with our business sector in promoting economic growth and attracting inward investment so we are encouraged by this latest news.  I wish Mercury Security Management every success with its planned expansion to include a new facilities management division and rebrand to Mercury Security & Facilities Management.”
