Council Reopens its Doors on an Appointment Only Basis

Lisburn & Castlereagh City Council has welcomed customers back to its headquarters at Lagan Valley Island. Anyone wishing to inspect documents, deliver applications or get advice on planning, building control or environmental health can now come into the building. They just need to make an appointment.

Alderman Paul Porter, Corporate Services Committee Chairman said:

“As a council, we continue to work hard to deliver essential services during this pandemic. Our online and remote measures have been working well and we encourage customers to continue to access services online where possible.

“However, with recent relaxations announced by the NI Executive, we are delighted to open Lagan Valley Island, increasing access to some services. At the moment, we are operating by appointment only to ensure the safety of our customers and staff. It gives me great confidence to see the social distancing measures and enhanced cleaning arrangements that have been put in place including new customer consultation areas. Customers can be assured that we are doing all we can to keep them safe.

“We ask that customers book an appointment in advance and come alone so that we can safely manage the number of people in the building. If you are showing symptoms of COVID-19, please remember to follow the advice of the Public Health Agency and do not plan to visit.  We look forward to welcoming people back to Lagan Valley Island as we continue to provide essential council services.”
