Council Invites Your Views on Its Performance Improvement Plan 2017/18

May 5, 2017

Lisburn & Castlereagh City Council’s draft Performance Improvement Plan for 2017/2018 is now available for review and the Council is inviting you to have your say.

Your feedback will be used to produce a final Performance Implementation plan for the year ahead and you can view the document by clicking here or it is available on request.

The Chairman of the Governance and Audit Committee, Councillor Tim Mitchell, outlined the purpose of the Performance Improvement Plan.  He said: “Each year the Council has a statutory duty to continually improve the delivery of its functions.  It is also required to set improvement objectives for the services it provides and to make arrangements for achieving them.  Our draft Improvement Plan for 2017/2018 details the improvements we have identified for the year ahead and these improvements will focus on five objectives.  These objectives and the Plan are linked to the Community Plan as well as our Local Development Plan.

“The Council is inviting you to put forward your comments and opinions in regards to these.  All comments will be considered with a summary of these responses provided to the Governance and Audit Committee prior to any finalised document being agreed.”

The Council’s Chief Executive, Dr Theresa Donaldson, said: “It is essential that we review our service delivery every year. Continuous improvement not only enhances the quality of life for our citizens but it creates efficiencies and reduces costs.

“The Performance Improvement Plan does not describe our day to day work, but it is set out to provide information on the changes and improvements we would like to make. All feedback received is extremely useful as it is used to shape our priorities and identify improvements spanning across all services provided by the Council.”
