Community Plan Action Plan for Lisburn Castlereagh

March 27, 2018

Following the launch of the Community Plan for the Lisburn and Castlereagh area, the Strategic Community Planning Partnership (SCPP) has adopted the next phase of this work, the Community Plan Action Plan.

The Chairman of the SCPP, Alderman William Leathem, said: “Since the launch of the Community Plan, we have worked with our partners in community and voluntary areas to develop the community planning themes into actions.

“Each theme has an associated set of actions with the aim to improve the well-being of our citizens. We will be providing details around the specific actions at a launch of the Action Plan in the near future.  I am very pleased that we have the agreement around the Action Plan so that this work can move forward,” he said.

A significant amount of work went in to producing the Community Plan which is intended to run until 2032 following consultation and conversations with local people, businesses and community groups. The Council remains focused on shaping our future for the betterment of the Lisburn and Castlereagh area.

The Community Plan focus is built around five key themes of: Children and Young People, The Economy, Health and Well-being, Where We Live and Our Community.

Each theme has achievable goals over the 15-year lifetime of the Plan which will contribute to the overall vision.
