Community Centres to Reopen from 13th August
August 13, 2020
Lisburn & Castlereagh City Council’s four directly operated community centres will reopen on a phased basis from Thursday 13th August for bookings only.
The reopening dates for our community centres are: Enler on the 13th August, Ballyoran on the 14th August, Moneyreagh on the 17th August and the Bridge on the 24th August.
Alderman Michael Henderson MBE, Leisure & Community Development Committee Chairman, said: “We are delighted to be reopening Ballyoran, Enler, Moneyreagh and the Bridge community centres. We understand the importance of these centres within our local communities and are looking forward to the bustle of activity returning. Over the last four weeks we have also reopened our two largest leisure facilities. Opening our community centres is a further step on our road to recovery. But we must not be complacent.
“A range of safety measures are in place to protect staff and those using the community centres. These arrangements are intended to give peace of mind to users whilst we continue provide a friendly, welcoming environment for community activities to take place.
“I would ask anyone wishing to use our community centre for an event, meeting or activity to book in advance. We cannot accept walk-ins at this time. When making your booking our staff will discuss your request in line with your ability to socially distance and our cleaning and sanitising requirements. We look forward to welcoming local residents back to their community centre.”
