Chairman Welcomes Community Partnership Working

March 24, 2020

The council would like to ensure its residents are aware of support available in their local area especially during the present lockdown period, which is a very daunting time for many of us.

Alderman James Tinsley, Chairman of the council’s Leisure & Community Development Committee said: “The vulnerable in our communities are a priority and we will be working with partner organisations to ensure they have access to their medications, food and someone to talk to should they be lonely. However, all our residents are important and we are looking at digital initiatives to support the health and mental wellbeing of our younger residents and families at this time.

“We have been engaging with the local communities to determine what resources are needed and prioritising them.

“We are creating a dedicated webpage that will contain up to date information on each of our DEAs: Castlereagh East, Castlereagh South, Downshire East, Downshire West, Killultagh, Lisburn North and Lisburn South.  Please keep checking our social media to know when this goes live and remember to share it with your friends and family, as it is very important we all work together in this unprecedented time.”

If you want to talk to someone to either, find out about available support or to offer your assistance to help others then please contact us on 028 9244 7713 or email: community.services@lisburncastlereagh.gov.uk and we will work with you.
