Celebrating Global Entrepreneurship Week

Lisburn & Castlereagh City Council through its Business Solutions Team are taking part in Global Entrepreneurship Week from Monday 14th to Friday 18th November 2016. This is the world’s largest celebration of innovators and job creators, who launch start-up businesses, bring ideas to life, drive economic growth as well as enhance human welfare and well-being.
Councillor Uel Mackin, Chairman of the Development Committee, speaking about the upcoming ‘free’ events said: “I am delighted that the Council is hosting a series of events that will give local entrepreneurs the opportunity to network, access support as well as learn new ways of developing and growing their business. The Council events range from an opportunity for businesses to participate in the upcoming trade missions to the Netherlands and Slovenia, information seminars, drop-in sessions and seminars on proven strategies to increasing sales and leading a successful business.
“The Council has partnered up with Philip Bain, founder and Chief Executive of Shredbank. Philip is also a multi award winning entrepreneur and author of Amazon Best Seller - Start to Grow. His seminar will focus on how to lead your business to successful growth. Philip will also be launching his new book ‘Start to Lead’ as part of Global Entrepreneurship Week, so come along on a first come basis for your free book”.
Other events on offer include an information session for young people aged 18-30 who are considering self-employed as well as an invitation to all to come along to learn and celebrate Social Entrepreneurship in the Lisburn and Castlereagh area.
Philip Bain, Co-founder and Director of ShredBank added: “My business ShredBank, that I co own with my business partner James Carson, is located within the council area so delighted to be partnering with Lisburn and Castlereagh Council during Global Entrepreneurship Week to deliver entrepreneurship and leadership training to many aspiring and existing entrepreneurs. Also, thankful to them for giving me the opportunity to launch my new book on leadership called - Start to Lead."

Monday 14th November: ‘Support for Starting a Business Information Seminar– The Prince’s Trust Enterprise Programme in partnership with the Council, 11.00am – 12 noon at Lagan Valley Island, Lisburn
Tuesday 15th November: Information Event - Netherlands and Central & Eastern Europe Trade Missions, 1.30pm – 5.00pm at Lagan Valley Island
Wednesday 16th November: Business Drop-In Sessions 10.00am – 1.00pm at Lagan Valley Island and 2.00pm – 4.30pm at Bradford Court, Castlereagh
Thursday 17th November: Entrepreneurs Network “Driving Sales: Proven Strategies to Increase Sales” with Simon Devlin at 8.00am – 9.30am at Inspire Business Centre, Castlereagh
Thursday 17th November: Celebrating Social Entrepreneurship at 2.00pm – 4.00pm at Laganview Enterprise Centre, Lisburn
Friday 18th November: Start to Lead...Leading Successful Business Growth by Philip Bain, Shredbank from 9.15am – 12.00 noon at the Chestnut Suite, Lagan Valley Island
