March 19, 2019

The organisers of the Wastewater Solutions UAC Easter Stages Rally are pleased to announce they have received significant support from Lisburn & Castlereagh City Council.

The 2019 event will take place over the Easter weekend - 19th & 20th April with the Service Area based in Dundrod utilising the Ulster Grand Prix paddock and facilities. Pre-event scrutiny will take place on Thursday 18th April at Dundrod Motorsport Centre, which will provide an opportunity for rally fans to see the cars and drivers up close.

The two-day rally covers 15 stages in the Lisburn & Castlereagh City and Antrim and Newtownabbey Borough Council areas.  Dundrod pits have magnificent history, heritage and legacy in motor sport and facilitate tremendous access for the competitors and spectators.

The Mayor of Lisburn & Castlereagh City Council, Councillor Uel Mackin, commented: “It is fantastic news that we are working in partnership with the UAC Easter Stages Rally. I am excited that this great motorsport event is coming to the area and I hope everyone is geared up for an action packed weekend.”

Chairman of the council’s Development Committee, Alderman William Leathem, commented: “The council is delighted to support this event and hosting the stages within our area adds to an already packed calendar of sporting events.  We are looking forward to welcoming visitors to our area for what promises to be a great motorsport weekend.”

Graeme Stewart, Event Director, commented: "We are delighted with the wonderful support from Lisburn & Castlereagh City Council and the partnership which is developing with them. We are looking forward to competing over some of the smoothest tarmac stages in Ireland, a large entry, lots of spectators, to make this spectacle at Easter, a roaring success contributing substantial benefits to the local economy".

Philip Johnston, Managing Director of Wastewater Solutions, commented that we are thrilled to welcome Lisburn & Castlereagh City Council on board and look forward to working with them over the event.

Nigel Hughes, Clerk of the Course, announced Malcolm Pedlow and Billy Regan as the winners of the draw for a free entry to the two day event who were delighted with this result.
