Vital funds raised for local foodbanks at Mayor's Charity Golf Day
June 1, 2021
The Mayor of Lisburn & Castlereagh City Council, Councillor Nicholas Trimble, held a Charity Golf Day at Castlereagh Hills Golf Club on Friday 21st May, in aid of his two Mayoral charities, Lisburn Foodbank and Dundonald Foodbank.
The event, which was a huge success with 25 teams taking part on the day, raised an impressive £2,810 for the local foodbanks who provide emergency food supplies and support to residents in the council area.
Speaking about the event, the Mayor said:
“I would like to thank everyone who took part in the Charity Golf Day, your support and kind donations will help these two worthwhile charities. Thank you to all the local companies who donated it is much appreciated. Also, a special thank you to the team at Castlereagh Hills Golf Club for helping make the day a great success and a fun event for all who took part.
“It was fantastic to see so many golfers back out on the golf course and enjoying a round of golf, all to raise vital funds for charity. I’m delighted that we could host this event in a physical setting, as the majority of my fundraising activities this year have been virtual.”
Congratulations to all our winners on the day.
