Technical Assistance and Feasibility Fund open for applications

November 5, 2021

Lisburn & Castlereagh City Council has introduced a bespoke funding programme to help build capacity of local groups wishing to embark on the development of a capital related programme.  The financial assistance on offer can be used to provide a range of support including training/mentoring, capacity building or contribute towards the preparation of Feasibility Studies or commissioning of technical expertise.

Under the Technical Assistance and Feasibility Fund (TAFF) up to £5,000 is available to assist local groups progress grassroots community projects which will provide an invaluable contribution to quality of life in local areas across the Council.

Councillor Sharon Skillen, Leisure & Community Development Committee Chair, speaking about this funding opportunity said: “As a Council we have recognised that there is a gap in provision and capacity in many organisations.  There are groups who are at the scoping stage of their project and require specific assistance to develop relevant studies or technical expertise to prepare for potential capital projects on the basis of the key principles of eligibility, affordability, deliverability, feasibility and sustainability.”

“Not all capital projects are about new buildings and local groups may have project ideas which require consultancy support through capacity building, training or mentoring and require low level financial support to develop and assess a projects viability. This fund is also aimed at providing this practical assistance.”
