November 16, 2017
The Mayor of Lisburn & Castlereagh City Council, Councillor Tim Morrow, said today: “I would like to commend the emergency services for their excellent work at Seymour Hill last night. This includes the Northern Ireland Fire and Rescue Service, the NI Ambulance Service, the PSNI and the Northern Ireland Housing Executive who had a number of teams on the ground managing the emergency.
“We are very glad of course that the fire was extinguished so quickly. Our thoughts are with residents who were affected by the situation and we wish those who required assistance or treatment a quick recovery.”
Kilmakee Activity Centre was opened as a support centre during the emergency situation. This morning the Council facilitated a Community Support and Information Centre at Kilmakee Activity Centre, which was led by the Northern Ireland Housing Executive to assist with local community queries. This was staffed with multi agency representatives including South Eastern Trust, PSNI, local Community associations, Council Community Services Officers, Dept. for Communities and the British Red Cross.
