Statement by the Mayor, Cllr Bloomfield on the recent accident on the A1

The Mayor of Lisburn & Castlereagh City Council, Councillor Brian Bloomfield MBE, speaking about the tragic accident on the morning of Friday 5th August, on the A1, near Hillsborough, said: “It is with great regret and sorrow that due to an accident on the A1 that a lady has sadly lost her life.

“Our thoughts and prayers are with the family at this time as they try and come to terms with the loss of their loved one in such heart-breaking circumstances. 

“I would like to extend sincere wishes to those who also sustained injuries during the accident and wish everyone a speedy recovery.

“The PSNI are currently investigating the incident; and if anyone has any information please assist them with their enquiries,” concluded Mayor Bloomfield.
