Lisburn & Castlereagh City Council will be hosting the ‘Spring Flings & Easter Things’ event in Moat Park, Dundonald on Saturday 31st March from 2.00pm – 5.00pm to promote its new outdoor performance area.

The Department for Communities part funded the construction of this performance area and the hosting of this free event which will have something for everyone.

The event will be packed with activities to suit all ages including a Mad Hatters Tea Party Theatre Show, an Easter Egg Hunt, craft workshops, funfair rides and face painting.

The event will close with a performance by group The Diva Dolls, a popular act performing contemporary cover music from artists such as Beyoncé, the Beatles, U2, Abba, Adele, Bryan Adams and Christina Aguilera to name a few.

Alderman James Tinsley, Chairman of the Council’s Leisure & Community Development Committee said: “It is fantastic news that the Council has secured funding to host this family Spring Flings and Easter Things event in Dundonald on Easter Saturday.  The Council likes to see its parks being enjoyed by visitors and residents and it is hoped the new outdoor performance space in Moat Park will be enjoyed by all.

“Spring Flings and Easter Things will offer something for all the family, from young to old.  We’ve arranged performances by local community groups, theatre shows, a bouncy castle, a petting farm and play areas suitable for small babies which are autism friendly. Please come along and enjoy the fun,” said Alderman Tinsley.

Local group performances will be from Dundonald Community Concert Band, Lauren G&L Dance Academy and Dundonald High School Choir.

Lynne Mc Donald from the Department for Communities added: “This Easter event is being supported through the Department’s revitalisation initiative to help bring people into and enjoy the facilities available in Moat Park, and Dundonald more generally. The Department continues to collaborate with the Council to support town centres and events such as this.  I hope the weather is sunny on Easter Saturday and that everyone enjoys the event.”

This event is free and open to the public.
