Show respect when passing others
April 3, 2020
With many people taking their one opportunity to get some daily exercise at this time, we would like encourage you to respect others.
Some chose to walk, some run and some cycle along our footpaths and country roads.
To ensure a pleasant experience for everyone can you please show respect to others when passing. This is simple to do:
1. Cyclists please ring your bicycle bell if you have one or call out
2. Walkers and runners if passing others please keep your social distance and stay safe on the path or road.
The council would like to remind residents that the Highway Code requires cyclists ‘to take care when passing pedestrians, especially children, older or disabled people, and allow them plenty of room. Always be prepared to slow down and stop if necessary.’
