Santa Dash at Wallace Park, Lisburn
November 21, 2016
A host of Santa Claus’ will be limbering up to take part in the festive Santa Dash on Saturday 10th December at 9.30am in Wallace Park.
The annual event, which is organised by Lisburn & Castlereagh City Council’s Sports Services Unit, will provide a morning of festive fun across a choice of 1, 2 or 3 mile routes. It promises to be a great morning of activity for both adults and children who are looking to get into the Christmas spirit or enjoy a new fitness challenge.
The entry cost is £5, which includes your very own Santa suit to ensure you’re festively dressed for the day! A donation from each entry will be made to the Mayor of Lisburn & Castlereagh City Council’s Charity, Tiny Life.
Councillor Tim Morrow, Chairman of the Council’s Leisure & Community Development Committee said, “The festive season would not be complete without Santa and we hope to see many Santas in Wallace Park running a few laps. The morning promises to be great fun and you don’t have to be an experienced runner to take part, you just need to bring plenty of smiles and lots of Christmas cheer!
“I would like to encourage as many people of all ages and levels of fitness to take part in the event and help raise funds for the Mayor’s charity, Tiny Life. There are a choice of 1, 2 and 3 mile routes so it’s the perfect activity for families or groups of friends looking to enjoy some festive fun. Please spread the word and see if we can get as many Santa dressed runners and joggers as possible at Wallace Park.”
Registration must be made before Friday 2nd December at the Leisure Services reception at Lagan Valley Island. For further information, please contact Kelly Irwin on 028 9250 9566 or email Kelly.Irwin@lisburncastlereagh.gov.uk.
