Lisburn & Castlereagh City Council and Habitat for Humanity launch Pre-Loved Christmas Toy Scheme.
November 11, 2022
Lisburn & Castlereagh City Council are excited to partner with Habitat for Humanity to deliver a pre-loved Christmas Toy Scheme.
Councillor Martin Gregg, Chair of Environmental Services Committee said: “We are delighted to be partnering with Habitat for Humanity to help families get quality, affordable toys for their children this Christmas.
“Every year, lots of toys which are still in great condition are thrown away as children outgrow them. This year, we are asking residents to donate their gently-used, pre-loved toys to Habitat for Humanity through our dedicated drop-off points.
“Toys must be clean, complete and in good condition/working order. Games and puzzles must be in their original boxes. Sorry, we cannot accept soft toys.
“Donated toys will be sorted and displayed in the Christmas Toy Shop at Habitat Restore Lisburn and one off pop-up toy shops in Maghaberry and Ballyoran."
Jenny Williams, Chief Executive, Habitat for Humanity Ireland said: “With the current cost of living crisis, this Christmas will be a challenging time for families. We are pleased to be working with Lisburn & Castlereagh City Council to help the local community access good quality toys at affordable prices."
