Speaking at the launch of the event the Mayor of Lisburn & Castlereagh City Council, Councillor Thomas Beckett, said: “We hope there is something that will appeal to everyone this summer in Wallace Park. The Park is a perfect backdrop and a very popular venue for families with the bandstand providing a great central location to allow for performances, drama and music.”
Alderman Paul Porter, Chairman of the Council’s Leisure & Community Development Committee said: “I am delighted that the Council has managed to secure a full programme of entertainment for families and residents of all ages. The Council likes to see Wallace Park being enjoyed by residents and visitors; and it is hoped that the Park will provide a shared space for all the community to attend our planned programme of events. I would encourage people to get a copy of the Park Life brochure and find out what is on over the summertime.
“The bands that will be playing in the Band Stand on Sundays include Drumlough Pipe Band, Baillies Mills Accordion Band and Dynamic Brass. I hope that each of these will be well supported by music fans from across the Council area and further afield,” he concluded.
