NI Speed Weekend heading to Balmoral Park

Lisburn & Castlereagh City Council is delighted to welcome the return of the Northern Ireland Speed Weekend on Saturday 29th and Sunday 30th August, at Balmoral Park, Lisburn in what promises to be an adrenaline fuelled, motoring extravaganza.
Previously known as the Festival of Speed, the Northern Ireland Speed Weekend will be jammed packed with rally cars, race cars, drifting, sport cars, go-karting, super cars, dragsters, helicopters, stunt shows including parachute displays from the Wild Geese parachute display team, plus lots more to keep you entertained!
In addition to the revved-up action, the current MSA British Touring Car Champion, Colin Turkington will also be attending the event to meet and greet rallying enthusiasts and perhaps sign one or two autographs.
Mayor of Lisburn & Castlereagh City Council, Councillor Thomas Beckett is pleased that the Council is supporting the event once again. He said, “It is great to see such a popular event return to Lisburn & Castlereagh City.
“From rallying to off-road driving, helicopter rides to go-karting, there is definitely something for everyone and plenty to choose from.
“If you haven’t already made plans for the bank holiday weekend and you have a passion for motorsport, this spectacular event is worth a visit.”
Chair of the Development Committee, Alderman Allan Ewart also commented, “I would like to welcome the NI Speed Weekend event to the Balmoral Park venue.
“It is going to be an exceptionally exciting weekend for motorsport fans and families and I expect thousands to attend in what will be a fantastic weekend of action.
“I would like to wish the event organisers all the best on the day and I hope the event is a roaring success.”
There will also be a whole host of live music from the best local musical talent to enjoy which will certainly complement the buzz of the event.
