New look tourism website

June 7, 2018

Tourism providers from Lisburn Castlereagh visited La Mon Hotel & Country Club to get a preview of the new look ‘Visit Lisburn Castlereagh’ website: www.visitlisburncastlereagh.com

The website provides a one-stop portal for visitors to the Lisburn & Castlereagh City Council area with essential tourism information highlighting all there is to see and do and how to immerse yourself in the rich heritage that we are extremely proud of.

The Chairman of Lisburn & Castlereagh City Council’s Development Committee, Alderman Allan Ewart, MBE explains how the website will: “also be a great source of information for residents as well as tourists so they can rediscover the attractions and events right on their doorstep.  To have quick and easy access to local information will help drive visitor numbers and really is a great window showcasing everything we have to offer.  More and more people are holidaying at home and we want the people of Northern Ireland, as well as those who visit from further afield, to pay us a visit and see for themselves the charm and appeal of our area.”

Chris Wilson from Streamvale Farm is delighted to support the Visit Lisburn Castlereagh website and said: “Tourism is much more than a venue or an activity; it is about an experience and creating treasured memories.  At Streamvale Farm we offer a fantastic family experience and provide an education to everyone who comes through our doors.  Tourism providers from across Lisburn and Castlereagh engage with the Council to ensure the area is promoted to a wide audience and is given the recognition it deserves. It is this partnership approach that strengthens the offering and opens up opportunities to develop the tourism market even further.”

Pat Moran from La Mon Hotel and Country Club and Stephen and Katie Jeffers from Forestside Cookery School were also present to lend their support to the Council’s tourism plans.

Alderman Ewart added: “A key objective of the Council’s Vision for Tourism is to increase overnight visitor numbers and we are very aware that with a substantial and continuing projected increase in visitors to Northern Ireland, Great Britain and the Republic of Ireland, it’s vital that we engage with all groups and individuals both in advance of and during their visits. We need to ensure that our digital marketing activities, of which our website is a fundamental aspect, become a frequent and useful resource for our tourist market.”

The Council is home to a wide range of events including the Farmers’ Markets, Sunflower Fest, the Summer Festival of Racing, Hilden Beer and Music Festival and Moira Calling and attractions ranging from We are Vertigo, Lagan Valley LeisurePlex, Dundonald Ice-Bowl and Lyon’s Karting.  There is something for everyone in Lisburn Castlereagh so why not take the time to experience some of the great events and things to do.
