Miss Co. Antrim Presents Cheque to Mayor's Charity
August 12, 2015
Sacha Livingstone from Hillsborough became Miss County Antrim earlier in the year, and will be competing in the Miss Ireland final at the end of the month.
Charitable work is important to Sacha and she chose the Mayor’s Charity, Mary Peters Trust as the most recent cause she wished to raise money for.
The Mayor, Councillor Thomas Beckett receiving the cheque from Sacha, said: “I am humbled by the £200 that Sacha raised by holding a coffee morning in her home for family and friends. It is inspiring when young people do charitable work and Dame Mary and myself are delighted that on this occasion Sacha chose my mayoral charity.
“On speaking to Sacha she said that she wished to support a Lisburn based charity and as an avid sportsperson she was delighted to read that I had chosen to raise money for the Mary Peters Trust during my term in office. She wanted to assist me in my fundraising efforts and raise awareness of this charity that helps local young people fulfil their dreams in their chosen sports at regional and national levels,” concluded Councillor Beckett.
The Mayor and Dame Mary Peters CH DBE both wished Sacha luck in the forthcoming beauty pageant.
