September 29, 2016
Lisburn & Castlereagh City Council was delighted to have Neil O’Brien, published author in the area of mental fitness speak at its ‘Winning New Business: Habit Intelligence’ entrepreneurs network event held recently at Lagan Valley Island, Lisburn.
Through its Entrepreneurs Network the Council’s Business Solutions Team has designed a calendar of business networking and discussion forum events to engage with local entrepreneurs and businesses, aimed at addressing key business issues and promoting business development.
Neil O’Brien is the number one corporate speaker and coach in Ireland on the topic of Mental Fitness. Regaining confidence quickly, staying confident and motivated longer as well as being resilient and successful in the face of constant change and challenges is all down to individual mental fitness.
Councillor Uel Mackin, Chairman of the Council’s Development Committee, speaking about the first event of the year, said: “Having Neil with us is a fantastic start to the Entrepreneur Network year. The work that he has undertaken with individuals and teams within large businesses such as Microsoft, Cocoa-Cola, IBM, Grant Thornton and Airtricity has allowed them to gain higher levels of mental fitness and certainly benefited their performance levels.
“At the event Neil used his sport and business psychology experience to demonstrate to local business representatives how to remain resilient and succeed in their goals. Mental fitness is a key skill that can benefit many organisations across the public and private sectors as powerful mindsets leads to enhanced business performance and development.
“Using his unique style of delivery Neil delivered a memorable workshop that encouraged our local entrepreneurs to stop old habits and create some new ones,” concluded Councillor Mackin.
Neil O’Brien has also worked with professional golfers including Ryder Cup and Walker Cup players, Irish rugby stars, footballers, Davis Cup tennis players and other sporting professionals.
