McGreevy Engineering soaring to new heights

Council representatives and Chairman of Lisburn & Castlereagh City Council’s Development Committee Alderman Allan Ewart MBE visited local engineering company McGreevy Engineering Ltd to hear about their recent investments totalling £395,000.

Based on the Ballygowan Road, McGreevy Engineering specialises in precision machined components, 5-axis milling and multi axis turn milling.  It has invested £395,000 over the last few years to secure machinery and suitable facilities to enable their ongoing growth and to fulfil orders from North America.

The company currently employs 14 staff and hopes to increase this in the near future. As well as expanding their workforce the company is currently revamping their premises as part of their growth plan. Last year the business expanded further into the aerospace market and reported a 50% growth.

This local business received £50,000 from Lisburn & Castlereagh City Council’s Rural Business Investment Scheme in October 2016, which was part-funded under Priority 6 (LEADER) of the Northern Ireland Rural Development Programme 2014-2020 by the Department of Agriculture, Environment and Rural Affairs, and the European Union.

Speaking about the investments at the time Managing Director Aaron McGreevy said: “The new investment will enable the company to further diversify its capabilities, setting it up to carry out projects for the aerospace manufacturing market. It is an exciting time for the company, the engineering sector in Northern Ireland is one of the best in the world, competition is rife and this investment will position McGreevy Engineering among the finest that Northern Ireland has to offer.”

With robust planning and scheduling procedures, McGreevy Engineering utilises advanced manufacturing technologies in a lean environment, producing products from materials including titanium, Inconel, duplex and aluminium.
