Market Square's Music Takeover

July 29, 2016

This week Lisburn & Castlereagh City Council hosted Jump, Jiggle and Jive and a Tea Dance live from Market Square.

Jump, Jiggle and Jive, an interactive dance and exercise group for kids kicked off the day, twirling and swirling with hula hoops, pom poms and other colourful surprises. They had audience members on their feet, clapping and dancing along to the lively spectacle. Later on in the day ‘Housty’ as he is known by his loyal fanbase entertained dancers with music through the decades.

Councillor Uel Mackin, Chairman of the Development Committee at Lisburn & Castlereagh City Council attended the event: “It was great to see such a large audience in the City Centre. It is safe to say they had an enjoyable day out filled with fun and entertainment. We welcome more of these events, which not only provide free activities for all ages but also encourage the community to call into their local trader whilst visiting the City Centre.  I am already looking forward to the next event on the 23rd August!”

If you are out relishing Lisburn City Centre’s bustling shopping atmosphere, why not make your way to Market Square to enjoy a host of future family-friendly events.

The 6th August will see Market Square turn into a Motorbike Lego ‘fest’ with two events in one. The day will commence with the Ulster Grand Prix attempting to break the world record for the most makes of motorcycle in one place in Market Square.
