Local Tech Companies Take Part in Trade Programme to London

Lisburn & Castlereagh City Council offered nine local companies the opportunity of a trade mission to London (2nd- 4th April) to engage with potential buyers and network with their customers at a high profile investment event in Mansion House.

In keeping with the Council’s modernisation programme the technology led business sector was prominent within the trade mission delegation.

Alderman William Leathem, Chairman of the Development Committee, said: “London is an important gateway to the Great Britain market and we are keen to open doors for all Lisburn Castlereagh businesses.  We are delighted to have been able to provide nine local small to medium sized enterprises with dedicated face to face meetings with key decision makers and investors this year. These businesses offer unique products and services and their mission to London is an ideal opportunity for them to pitch to new clients.

“Lisburn Castlereagh is all about synergies and through partnerships like today’s investment event we support local businesses to help boost the local economy.  As a result of last year’s trade mission, we recently hosted a successful Meet the Buyer event in Lisburn with Transport for London.  This resulted in over 100 meetings taking place with nearly 100 companies.  I look forward to hearing the outcomes from this trade mission’s participants.”

The nine trade mission programme participants are: Scaffold Digital, The Robot Exchange, Connected Care Solutions, Tricord, Boomer Industries, Johnsons Coffee, AM Brands, Hinch Distillery and Knox & Clayton.

The Rt Hon Sir Jeffrey Donaldson MP, who is a great advocate for the Lisburn Castlereagh area added: “All sectors are currently represented within the Lisburn Castlereagh area; and the area offers opportunities for further major developments.  There is a high level of growth in the technology led business sector with recent additions to Lisburn being the Robot Exchange’s new R&D centre and Qatar based Excelledia’s first European research based digital innovation centre. I am delighted to have the opportunity to bring the council’s investment event to London as I am very proud of my home city and am confident it will sell itself to the British market.”
