Local Special Olympian to play in World Games

The Mayor, Councillor Uel Mackin met with Lisburn 2gether’s Sarah-Louise Rea before she travelled to Abu Dhabi last Thursday to take part in Special Olympics World Games.
Sarah-Louise is part of Special Olympics Team Ireland made up of 91 athletes and 76 volunteers and coaches.
The Mayor, said: "It is always a pleasure to meet young athletes from the Lisburn Castlereagh area. Sarah-Louise is a dedicated badminton player and has been training hard in preparation for the World Games. Her excitement was evident as she spoke about her training, her travel itinerary and her team mates. I wish Sarah-Louise every success in these games and I am sure she will do her family and team proud."
7,500 athletes from 190 countries will participate in the games which will be held in multiple venues across Abu Dhabi beginning on 14 March with a spectacular opening ceremony and finish on 21st March.
The Lisburn 2gether Special Olympics Club is extremely proud of Sarah-Louise and wish her every success for the 2019 World Games.
