Northern Ireland Councils 'Best in Class' 2020 Winners Announced

Councils throughout Northern Ireland celebrated yesterday as the eight award category winners of the 2020 Local Government Awards were announced. The event was hosted by Sarah Travers at the Crowne Plaza Hotel, Belfast.

Lisburn & Castlereagh City Council is very proud and delighted to have won two categories, the Best Local Authority Service Team awarded to its City Centre Management team and Best Local Authority Elected Member Development Initiative for its Regional Programme of Elected Member Development, developed by its cross-party Elected Member Development Network.

This awards event was co-ordinated by NILGA and the Association of Public Service Excellence (APSE). This year they attracted 58 entries and showcased brilliance in service provision, new initiatives and the personal commitment from councils, councillors, staff and partners. The categories are designed to foster innovation, exceptional commitment and great work, providing opportunities for local government’s staff and members to step forward and learn from great example.
