Ashvale Farm Shop located in Lisburn has recently been awarded a Great Taste Awards gold star for both their Irish Wheaten Bread and their Bailey’s Cheesecake.
A small delegation from Lisburn & Castlereagh City Council visited this local business to commend manager Emily-Jane Herron and her team on this double gold achievement.
Alderman Jim Dillon MBE, Development Committee Chairman said: “This local farm shop has grown from strength to strength since it opened in 2014 with support from the Rural Development Programme. To have won two prestigious Great Taste Awards for good wholesome home cooked products is an excellent achievement. I would encourage you to visit this local business and enjoy their produce from the farm shop or a takeaway from the tea room. I have no doubt they will achieve more awards in the future as they offer remarkable local food and drink in their tea room and farm shop.”
Councillor Uel Mackin, Development Committee Vice-Chair added: “I’ve followed the development of Ashvale Farm Shop since its inception and it’s heart-warming to see it reach this landmark in its history. This local business is thriving and the addition of the Ashvale Little Shop and fresh fish facility in recent times extends their offering. You can get more than refreshments when you visit. You can also browse this quaint little shop of local treasures, ladies clothing, home and giftware.”
